Sex After Seventy- Foreshadow
Ayo- F.A.M.
This piece is based on a lot of experiences, all of them are personal.
And there it was, the truth that I’d finally discovered
Despite my endless denials, I knew that I loved her
That’s why my jealously raged when I saw her with guys
It was appalling that I, had been hording this lie
But now I was cornered, it couldn’t be known
If a breathed a single word I’d be thrown from my home
I’d be quietly removed from my circle of friends
Because it would be emotionally hurting for them
I’m trapped, can’t play it safe, can’t try to do or die
I believe in God enough not to fuck with suicide
Trying to sleep, restless, what do I moan and flex for?
Because I heard her fucking her boyfriend next door
I had fantasies of smashing his face in, contemplating
Seeing his face vacant as his life was taken
To make it worse, he’s a nice guy and witty as hell
Kind, considerate, the ladies think pretty as well
And it doesn’t take a genius to follow the plot
It doesn’t matter if he’s leaving us tomorrow or not
Coz there it is, there it was, there it ever will be
He’s trapped in his emotions, he’ll never be free
How could I contend with him? Although, don’t get me wrong
I’m handsome enough, as a player my set is strong
But getting sexual offers is nothing on this front
When the only girl you can’t have is the one you want
So I plaster a fake smile every time I speak to her
And blast her with fake, while I’d really rather sleep with her
Fuck buddies don’t work, I can contest to that truth
Hollow feelings, I’m leaving, but blessed with the proof
Godammit, she was mine first! We were closer than friends!
And getting closer by the day, how’s this supposed to end?
TV has lied to me, through every sitcom and series
I fed into this shit, read the messages clearly
And that screen is a mirror for our lives that took place
Apart from where the credits roll and they finally embrace
And there it was, the truth I’d finally discovered
All those years knowing each other didn’t lead to lovers
And it doesn’t take a genius to follow the plot
It doesn’t matter whether he’s leaving us tomorrow or not
Coz there it is, there it was, there it ever will be
He’s trapped in his emotions, he’ll never be free
