    Ten Words

    Ten Words

I have ten words, and each of them are quiet,
all of them sit still when I tell them to,
But, when I say make noise... they... are a riot!
The words yell CRASH and then follow that with BOOM!

I have ten bonnets, ten cradles and ten little beds
all of them await precious cargo of what I said
But, the rhyming ones I seperate... just.. to be fair
Though, they often try sneaking playtime when I am unaware...

I have no patience and parents and poets know it,
all of my time is divided, recited, memorized and requited
But, even then I have been known to blow it
So, I keep ten diaries of poems to write it

I have ten different words, none of them share meter
all of them race at varied paces, never once together
But, it seems most of the time, they pick a leader
I all but know for sure it makes them better

I have ten words in each line and each rhyme
all of them are obedient and follow very strict rules
But, my strict diction falls to dereliction from time to time
So now and then repitition allows a friend or two

I have plans for each word and college trust funds
all of them will possess the keys to their phuture
But, I will still kiss spelling errors and broken rhymes
no matter how my poems fail, my love will suture

I have given up on giving in to lyrical demands
all of them are silly and even my words agree
But, multiple patterns are scattered as a matter of plans
together forever my words and i endeavour to be free

I have accepted that words will indeed eventually escape me
all of them are too many for one simple man
But, I have stopped chasing them... or at least... lately
So these days I settle for doing what I can

I have nothing in the world more precious than words
all of them, not just the ten I tend to
But, they can also cause so much pain and hurt
I wonder why words find it hard to defend you?

I have ten words, ten verses, ten stanzas, ten quatrains
all of them... well.. do not amount to a lot
But, my work is on display as plain as day
and in the end these ten words are all I got

This part was particularly dope, i really thought your concept was great man and executed well, though not every stanza held great meaning you still managed to keep my interest throughout this fairly long piece. The first stanza is just very good, expressing a feeling that im sure most poets can relate to, the second stanza the same applies but the way you personalized it for the poem is dope and kept up the concept well. The last stanza is again personal for the poem and really emphasize how good the poetic voice of this piece is, overall a really good read, nice drop man, stay up, 1luv.

This was really nice. It's the best poem I have read in a long time. The last stanza was really ill. I enjoyed every line. Nice job.

I really don't know what to say about this peice, it seemed playful, dark, deeply intellectual, mischevious, and some how sad. The ten word idea was brilliant, something that obviously shows your talent as a writer because that in itself is a task. I loved all your literary terms and the way I felt like you were writing about some one you knew in a way, like the words were your friends at times, enemies at others... beautiful personification...

That part made me think of the commercial with the little peices of gum and jumping back into the wrapper when a person comes in the room... dunno why I thought that but I just thought I'd share, loved it... peace

This was a very good pieces nice concept and I liked the set up of each line having 10 words in it. Very clever. This piece had nice emotion in it aswell

The flow was pretty simple and kind of predictable but I liked it anyways. I thought that this was real nice and everything seemed to go nicely. It was a little slow at the beginning then I got into it a little more. But it was a good piece. Hows TRP.

check the intent... trp is under new management that seem bent on running it into the ground... for now I'm just frequenting a few other places to see if they can turn that shit around without me...

Glorious! Your concept was brilliantly executed (especially the time to time/repetition bit) and as some have already mentioned, relatable themes of poetry.
