Me and my girl had our first big fight...
.....................................That amounted to just stupid things....
So I drove around clearing my head all night...
.....................................With everything that cupid brings...
I saw the corner bar it just felt right...
......................................So I decided to just pull in...
Got out looking up at the sky so bright...
......................................Thinking to myself who am i foolin?...
Went inside, saw the old bartender...
.......................................With not another soul in sight...
As my life and hopes got so slender...
........................................Wishing i could control this night...
As I Put my hands behind my head...
........................................Thinking about how things got rough...
Then he came to me and said...
......................................."what'll it be?" I said "The Good Stuff"
Well he didnt reach for the whiskey...
........................................And he didnt pour me a beer...
His old grey eyes kinda went misty...
........................................And he said.." you cant find that here"...

Cause its the way you feel after your first long kiss...
The way she says I Love You with her sweet lips...
Seeing her smile on your wedding day, dressed in white...
And right there you know that you just got blessed for life...
Her hand fitting in yours so perfectly, soft to the touch...
The way she looks at you so passionately..Oh what a rush...
...Yeah Man, Thats The Good Stuff...

Well he grabbed a carton of juice...
.......................................And he poured himself a glass...
He spilt some with no excuse...
.......................................And I couldnt help but laugh....
And I Said "I'll have some of that"...
.......................................He smiled and poured two cups...
We talked for hours as we sat...
.......................................Like old friends that grew up...
Then out of the corner of my eye...
.......................................I noticed this black and white picture...
It was a pretty girl and he replied...
......................................"Thats my Mary.....I really miss her"....
"She was taken from me a year...
.......................................After we were wed..from the cancer"...
And his eyes filled with tears...
........................................And I really didnt know how to answer...
He said "spent 5 years in the bottle...
........................................When the cancer took her from me swiftly"
"Been sober for 3 years now, Im not fooled...
...................................Cause the one thing stronger than the whiskey"...

Was the site of her holding our new born child...
The way she looked at me with that loving smile...
Its a brand new t-shirt that says "Im A Grandpa"
And holding each other close as our time got small...
The way she'd look into my eyes so deep and daze...
Holding her hand when the good Lord took her away...
...Yeah Man, Thats The Good Stuff...

He Said " When you get home take her in your arms"...
"And she'll start to cry, Hold her tight like a charm"...
"She'll say she's sorry....and say So am I"...
He pat me on the back and said "you better show it right"...
"look into those eyes so deep in love...and drink it up"...

i love your lovely love poems credz. they melt my heart. i liked this one more then normal for some reason. your poems always have a lot emotion but this one struck me as being more special for some reason. the things that you described truly were the good stuff in life. first kiss, taking your child home. beautiful stuff man keep it up.

I dont have even 100 posts But I' have wanted to B into music for a long time and I reconize Talent .. this was so pure and so special .. every thing flows and stays on topic .. the Structure is hard to get use to but fails to take any thing away from the piece ... I can't imagen what kind of person you must be .. to think so deeply about somthing and be able to put a story to words so smoothly .. I hope you find a Way to translate your abilty in to a steady cash flow .. The last Line of the first verse was increadable ..

my favourite part of this was the two level effect you got with the rhyming, innovative and original. the subject matter was just great. the hook was good, the story aspect to the story worked perfectly. the multis were pretty much flawless and the vocab was just right. i can really relate to this piece and i can see why you're modding this forum after reading this.
