Almost 1 year ago, I showed that I had the potential
But without dope vocab, it's like I'm only elemental
My pencil scribbles down anythin of the top of my head
I waste my lead til my vocal chords drop down dead
I said 'Mom I'm sorry' first and I thought I was the shit
With a 7/10 ratin, now it's like 7.5 is the very least I get
So I sit at my desk, whats gon' ignite rb in Open Mic
I start to write my whole life, display it to the whole site
But it's like people read but wont ever bother to reply
My OM's get 100 views but no feedback, I dunno why
And I never lie, so truth be told too many people dickride
Front Lines is a disgrace, but the mods have to let it slide
Talent died but there's nothin we can but live in hope
People are pathetic but their friends say their 'dope'
I cant cope, thats why Open Mic is my only place to shine
But Open Mic of the Month, won't ever show any of my lines
Coz I find that vocab seems to dominate over the flow
So no more bullshit, as a writer you've watched me grow
Low sillible words dont mean that with a pen your useless
And why do I stupe to this bullshit, fuck it, it's stupid...

I scored my second Open Mic Legend piece last week...

Plenty loved it, and nominated it.

But some peeps thought my message and vocab was too simple...

Cuz they think nothing's dope...unless you need a dictionary to understand it.

Thankfully more agreed than not and it made it in.

But fuck all that shit.
Fuck that shit that says,

When you could just as easily say...

The hall light shines through my door!

But, I digress...

Good verse, good depth to it.
Of course it'll get overlooked.

Interesting concept... funny how the piece where you diss people who like complex lyrics is one of the few that you used multies in

I hate most of that nerdy crap too, but SOME attempt at vocab should be considered... But this piece was pretty nice with that too... Some multies, which was nice

Flow was nice, easy to read and no stretched lines... structure was very neat and tidy

Dope shit. The flow was ust soo easy and smothe. The topic was ill, aswell. It's the shit that all of the decent/ill writers on rb think. good peice even with out the vocab but when people say ya shit needs or atleast when i say it needs vocab i mean why use fifth grade phrases and words like "i couldn't see that her movements that well" you cut out the see that part with discern and still mean the same thing anyway nice peice and return the favor like you said you would

I noticed that too...people really seem to think that writing the dictionary
automatically makes your piece amazing...it doesn't. The whole purpose is to
get your point across...if you can do that best with small words, then props
to you...if you do it with big words...then props to you too. Often, I just
see a big slew of enormous words, and people assume it's dope...I don't get
it man. I'm glad people are reading this, this will be a real eye-opener for
some of the guys on this site.

Great work LM, I enjoyed reading it until the end. Nice to see that somebody
talks about something different once in a while, rather than the same ol
thing.
