@Lay Doubt. I’m old enough to be from the freestyle era where we battled off the top on beat and any written / preconceived shit was frowned upon. Baron Mynd was intentional, as in ‘barren mind’ because I had nothing pre-prepared for opponents, it was straight up freestyle on the spot. I knew it could also be interpreted as empty headed, but that was kind of the fun behind it. The fact the UK pronounce it more as barren mind, and the US pronounce it more so as Bear In Mind made it funny to me too for the play on words. An old member here by the name of Jay Krupp gave me the name, it was an alias he had used at one point, I used it when I first ventured out from RB to other boards when people would claim I was a big fish in a small pond here but wouldn’t be respected until I went to elsewhere (RapMusic?) and proved myself. I was keen to have a different name so people couldn’t just claim I was dickrode for who I was, so I signed up as a completely diff name and then it ended up becoming the one I’m probably most known by. Weird how it worked out looking back.

Hate when people said that shit. I was in like 4 leagues at once and people were saying that shit every time I got a W that they didn't agree with. That's why only cares about LLL as a league since this was home base and I felt had the hardest comp at the time along with NC.

dawg I did like 10 minutes worth of googling for his name and I found was some wacky radio personality that I'm not even sure was a real person and some weird psychedelic Instagram that had way too many followers for what it was posting lol. It's probably him tho.

in literally every way, we had entire communities in this bitch and everything was active and wild af. We had enough people in here to fill up entire crews then have them battle each other without affecting the rest of the site. I was modding FL and we had active tourny's (Tag, SAP, singles, etc.). LLL even had enough people to have a LLL jr for a minute as an incubator for talent.

And crew battles were really some high stakes shit back in the day. It felt so serious to me when I was young. Mfs were super passionate about all that shit on here. I remember when Spit and me had a crew (“Last Word” I think?) separate from Feeble Minded (Diamond Minds?) and we were all dropping insane open mic bombs/disses on each other. Like 50 lines and shit haha everyone was getting the business back then.

bruhh those crew days were fucking wild. I was like 15 when I first signed up and all that crew shit was so serious for real. I was in jr thinking I was dope cos I champed it then got stomped on in LLL and signed out to go to FL to boost my ego back up. Comp was tough even just to get in back then.

I know it, and here’s the thing… The admin, Sylem, was actually a member here first before that site was even a thing. He would ask the admin team about how they went about getting VBulletin and its upkeep and blah blah blah, then he obviously split from here to form his own website.

If I remember rightly, and that’s a long time ago now, his dad was a member of the forum too (and admin?) he was helping run it. I did find that a bit odd back then, but from a parents perspective now Sylem Snr was prob just keeping a watchful eye on what his kid was doing.
