They are too much about wordplay and not enough about an actual battle. It's become "who can make the most semi-relevant play on words" contest as compared to an actual contest of sparring against one's mettle and emotional fortitude.

See, truth is I'm the best battler here because I've made the most men cry in back and forth banter. We both know a real battle win isn't the opinions of others but when your opponent realizes they are outmatched and admits defeat.
