We're in need of construction now is the eve of destruction
due to our peoples corruption and all our greed and seduction
because in demons we're trusting who essentially are cowards
their only aim is to maintain their own supremacy and power
over the rolls and classes, yes they control the masses
so we just go with the flow, and let them mold our passage
it's the end of our planet as seen in dreams and lore
taken for granted and advantage, the machine of war
as we have seen before, diplomacy has failed
our final conflict's at hand and I hope we shall prevail
they're about to call the shot ,to be honest all is lost
we're talking nuclear winter, and atomic holocaust
to late to call it off; run by the crookedest gluttons
I know this because I'm the one who pushes the button
inside a underground base, to launch tactical nukes
thought you were safe and sound, no, you have that confused
less than 10% will survive, the blast and the fallout
awaiting for the orders that my captain'll call out
thinking of the planet, I wonder its fate
when suddenly, the room begins rumble and shakes
the lights flick, my heart freezes cold in seconds
I slowly open my cell... and see there's no reception

A seaming endless span of time passes...
The power has failed..
the button is now the only function devices inside the room...

the hatch door wont open, no escape from this room
I've given up hope and now just wait for my doom
going crazed in this tomb...think of the life I lived
of my wife, my kids, the pain has grown twice as big
time stops, it's hopeless, all is lost, I know it
the walls are closing in I am so claustrophobic
feeling lost and hopeless, the madness grows slow
it's like a cavernous hole that's slowly ravaged my soul
the fact that I will die here, I tragically know
the end of my supply's near, my rations are low
I feel pure agony and fear...nothing but dread
and if I had a gun I'd put it up to my head
adrenaline quickly surges, hearts persistently thumping
I can barely resist the urge to slam my fist on the button
going berserk as I wait, death is for certain my fate
I'm mesmerized and hypnotized by it's circular shape
against this inner hell, I have no protection
open up my cell again..............no reception
the temptation is too strong, run to it's call in delight
and then slam my hand upon it, with all of my might

This piece was one of the better reads I've seen thus far since I been on RB.. Feelin the creativity and the placement of words.. Each bar connected building a clear and specific picture.. Good shit right here Iglo..

really dope haha... I love the perspective of this, it's so original. not sure you really needed that middle intermission there... but still, love the rest of this. everything flowed soooo smoothe as always, and as I said.. SO ORIGINAL. haha, really love reading something I've never read before.. coming from the perspective of a guy who's gotta push that doomsday button, that's something that deserves props haha...
