The Divided States
The Beginning
It all began, a country founded for wealth,
For good health, until America was into itself.
A home held for freedom and those in hell,
Skies the limit until we were too high we fell.
Land for the needy & ones who needed help,
Years were great … until time came to tell.
Racism
Religion free to roam, sip tea at home,
Until one race hated the others skin tone.
Laughed when they talked, enjoyed their tears,
Jews had money, blacks worked, Irish just drink beer.
Divided what’s really dear & ignored all the fear,
Left those to die meanwhile others cheered.
They couldn’t view eye to eye or face to face,
That’s why people died … to save their existing race.
Politics
Who thought, our leaders would lie,
Who thought we fought only to die.
Well politicians thought in order to stay
They would need wealth & war on there resume.
Making taxes so high, the poor couldn’t pay,
Avoided people’s rights & ignored what they say.
Riches ruled the free; money was no longer material,
America trapped behind bars had numbers with serials.
Unfortunately the truth is sad but sick,
That garbage day is every day in politics.
Poverty
Suffering souls, losing control of their life,
Shadows around... Disposing the light.
Waving white flags, surrendering now,
Plea for help, after being constantly turned down.
Seeing the percentages, we all know the facts
Most of America can’t afford the shirts on there back.
Seeing children in pain, its so hard to see,
Kids out of school do to being homeless & stuck in poverty.
The End?
Glance at the future, lose site of presence,
Turn the riches and workers back to peasants.
National debt, racism back on the rise,
Walked out the door of hope but left our pride inside.
Our countries still needing, still feeding off help,
What lies in the future? ….
We will see … when time comes to tell.
