Men Of Honor (Divine Diction Collab)

    MKs
Selfless men and women, gifted with hearts of gold,
True Bravery, scripted in stories of new and old.
They've lifted their skills, past the average being,
To a whole new level, where not worthy of seeing,
The people, who take that extra step in all of their days,
To help the world be united in the smallest of ways,
We don’t appreciate them, as we really should,
Cause when they do a "great" thing,
    ...............We recognize it as "good".......
Some truly risk their lives, some risk their careers,
"Brick Walls" to doubt, and won't even be moved by fears,
Their Pride is for others, who've lost their own,
To thrive for their brothers, who aren’t far from home,
There’s been a battlefield, hidden in the back of our minds,
Where the righteous men of honor, go to storm the frontlines,

    Hawkeyes
Young men and women sent to be U.S. correspondents
to fight for a money and power hungry president
U.S. citizens put in the middle of political war to get shoot
sleeping for days on dirty ass floors and cots
first going out fighting for our people but now for nothing
most of them get sent back to us by flag draped coffins
matter of fact even the enemies go out to fight for freedom
if they win would be the first step on the road to stardom
some call them towel heads or they call them sand niggers
but to some real people and their people know them as soldiers
they try to get high rankings like Navy Seals or Special Ops
and they move around the world like International super cops
you got different branches of them like Army, Air force, Navy, and Marines
they play their part like characters in a scene
some become successful and some become drug heads roaming the corner
but one thing we can't take from them is they are the Men Of Honor

    Haywood
A new sun shines down on a fine line of marching men,
Ten in a row, armor like scales, snaking through a glen,
Despite being weathered by weather, they’ll whether the storm ahead,
These men of honor intend to end the combat when they all lay dead,
Daughters, sons and wives, lives washed away like water,
Each one wants vengeance for a lost loves ones slaughter,
They march like ghosts; they have no reason to stay alive,
So they survive with the soul goal of reviving lost pride,
There’s no fear in their eyes, they’ve cried tears like rain from the skies,
The despised silenced the living, so the dead ride forth with battle cries,
They rise to the challenge of falling for death,
They’ll only be alive when left without breath,
An eye for an eye gives them a sight of things to come,
They march onwards when any sane man would run,
Dying will bring endless peace to these ten honorable men
Losing their loved ones killed them once so they can’t die again,

    Shawty “B”
Standing before men and women seeing a platoon of soldiers standing at attention
Standing before their loved ones, maybe for the last time, so much tension
Amongst the soldiers is my fiancé, saluting to the sergeant before they leave
Six month tour of duty, he’s leaving for Iraq, a hard concept to conceive
In a nation that Bush planned to attack instead of focusing on one war at a time
He had to take so many soldiers away from home, and now he’s taking mine
It brings a tear to my eyes as these soldiers wave their final good byes
And I know these soldiers have America on their minds from now until they die
Firing guns over a lost cause but it keeps home safe for another day
Remaining strong in front of an army but behind those sunglasses their crying
Well aware that their best friend is next to them and they might be dying
Lying in a 100-man tent as bombs fly over head wondering about home
Wondering if right now their love is sitting at home crying scared and alone
Writing letters just incase because the sergeant lied & said they’d be alright
When really he knew there were bombs at the tent – ready to take flight
And back at home she sits as rain falls, strangely it never touches pavement
But instead hallucinating, she looks and sees soldiers names engraved in it
Here at home we cry as we raise our flags that due to pride have a fade
These are the same flags we wave upon their return, as they step off that plane

The plane that lands immediately after is the plane for which we cry
Being escorted on that plane is all of the soldiers that died
Last letters and apologies are given to the families as they cry together
Reading the passage on the picture ‘keep me, protect me, and I will live forever’
An almost non-existent smile hits a mom’s face as her eyes twinkle in the light
She knows her son is fine in heaven; he died but still helped win the fight
Take a step back and look at the flag covered coffins of the soldiers that died
Surrounded by fellow soldiers, this is Americas finest our men of honor our men of pride

I'm offended that this received practically no feed. It was a little hard for me to read this just because I am the wife of a Marine, but at the same time, it drew me in with each line. I can relate to almost all of it. The imagery was truely amazing. You all hit everything on point. In a way it left me speechless. I really admire this piece. For some, it would take almost nothing to write something of this nature, but in turn, it takes a lot. The emotion was pouring out of each person beautifully. I can't say much more accept that I love it. Amazing job. Those are my views.

hmm, a really touchy peice that not many people would have a true feeling about, it seemed to me that this was more heart felt than it was for recognition, i am a US Marine, and i do apreciate poems like this, and so does every other marine and soilder and navy folk. It is a constant reminder that what we are fighting for is the ones that we love, and to protect this great thing, this blessing ...freedom.............

other than that, i think the structure could have been a lil better, imagry was good, over al i liked it.

try to remember, the worst battles arethe ones you can never see.....peace...........
