Talking shit is one thing but acting like people have absolutely no talent it's just going to make people leave. If y'all are so good maybe you should help them.

Hear Hear.. this guy gets it.. we need some culture changes.. inclusive communities Grow.. exclusive community's die off.. When this Bar for Bar tourny starts i hope the older vets and regulars will see new members and contestants and rather then insult them because one doesnt know their name, welcome the new members and give them flowers of pointers where possible.. When we brought M3 over here to RB we had a new young dude join up named fable.. he was good at writing stories but his battle bars needed work.. fable went from a 4-5 out of 10 to a 8 with a lil feedback and lyrical coaching...

I agree 1000% with Spit here.. We, as a community need to be better conditonally when it comes to new faces and old.. We might start getting alot of middle and high schoolers in here during the tourny and definitly alot of vet talent..

People like Spit and Lay just seem unable to accept that styles come and go, text battling is a young man’s game and tastes have changed. What was cool then isn’t always going to be. You either get known with that’s known, or remain forgotten with what isn’t. Simple evolution. They’re relics of the past, arguably significant ones in RB’s last decade, but relics nonetheless. Things have improved.

Every time I battle? I let plethora drop after the deadline, edit his shit even later, and said I wanted nothing to do with a DQ because I should have wrote something he couldn’t have beat regardless.

If you don’t think I have a legitimate point about FaQ’s bar getting votes against mine, then I don’t give a fuck to be honest. We can’t pretend that everything in this craft/realm is subjective no matter how bad it is, or when there isn’t even a punch in a punchline league. I don’t have to sit here and act like it’s all good when it ain’t. That’s not toxic, that’s holding people accountable for what the fuck they’re reading and voting on.

Except you have it backwards, because that long bar bullshit FaQ came with was wack and outdated 20 years ago, and wouldn’t have received a single vote on here in 2004. That’s not what evolution or improvement is. That is regression and devolvement. Having two separate lines of set ups, convoluted wording, not having an actual punchline, and then explaining some awful wordplay with parentheses has ALWAYS been considered wack and objectively bad form in the realm of text battling. It is not a positive thing if suddenly people are acting like it’s passable or acceptable to produce some bullshit like that in a punchline league.

Don’t sit here and tell me it’s a “young man’s game” and “tastes have changed” lol that level of bar and writing has always been bad. There’s no evolution involved with some people on this site now lending credence to it. Dude did not draft up some new and updated style of text battle bar vs. me that we haven’t seen before. It has always existed and sucked lol. What I wrote was better in any era of text, including today.
