TBH, if you used some of that money to put into ads and SEO for the text league, you might find heads that are looking to re-ignite their competitive side. I know there are people out there who probably miss it and just don't have the time anymore, or just cba with forums. As well as social media helping kill the Forums in general, I can't be sure it would work, and activity is something that isn't promised with that, though.
My thoughts are on how to adapt to the modern age. Maybe a dedicated app or something... I'm just rambling now.

Well you ever want to talk about that, let me know, I will be willing to help with that. As well as any design work that's needed.
Text battles are super niche, but I'm sure there is an audience out there that never knew it existed. Especially the younger generation that weren't around during its prime back in the early 00s. I think the biggest task is driving new heads here, but also I believe there are things that can be done to try to drive traffic and get eyes on.
I also feel that there are probably a lot of people who are too scared to record or battle face-to-face, so maybe the niche just needs marketing to the right places.

The problem is that it doesn't translate very well to how people now consume content, and that is short-form video. If it can be made to be promoted on that, then maybe there is a chance - an idea would be to use the same sort of concept as the LLL trailer video, I thought that was hilarious.

That's not that difficult, really, tho. That's just an SEO overhaul. Meta tags and keywords will get you to the top of Google.

That's fair, I've been building websites and branding companies for a long time now. But neither of us has access to even make that change, unfortunately. BUT If you ever need that particular set of skills, you now know who to contact.
