Taking semantic issue with the term ‘antisemitic’ here seems intellectually dishonest. Yes Palestinians are semitic people too, but this discussion is about the persecution of Jews by Nazi ideology and in context it’s clear that’s what the term is being used to convey. Whatever word you want to use, it doesn’t much matter.
IMO If there’s a problem with the music industry it’s the industry aspect. Unchecked capitalism leading to the commodification of expressive art. It’s more a case of people using heinously wrong means to achieve their ends. In Nazism, on the other hand, the ends they sought to achieve are inherently awful. The ideology of racial superiority and ethnic cleansing are inextricable from the means. There’s no ‘good’ way of achieving racial purity, the goal itself is fucked up.
