It only shows battles ready for votes in the thread, and a seperate pending battles where you can only see your post and your opponent can't see yours, you can work on your verse in the pending battle without them seeing it.

those threads are programatically created and updated so it shows the correct usernames, so when someone changes there name the poll and threads always say the correct name.
