Yeah I'm only grinding like this right now because I am still rebuilding the brand/operation. They weren't ISO9001:2015/AS9100D when I came on board, and didn't have any documented processes/work instructions. I've grown the sales 47%, staff by 30%, expanded the operation and built the QMS from the ground up over the last 3 years. I have 22 people reporting to me including 3 managers, so I still have my hands full. Delegation still a work in progress, I can't hand off critical processes/responsibilities until I am confident my employees can handle it properly. Almost there, I think by this time next year I will be back to rolling in around 9:30 and leaving at 4:30. That's what my original schedule was until I realized there was no fucking way I could get everything done in that time span.

I got the QMS down, templates, all that. All the metrics are automated at this point. I even built databases in excel to handle everything from OTD & quality DPPM metrics to individual performance metrics, with annual competency assessments auto running off the metric data, shit's incredible. The issue I am facing is it's a very niche industry and my team was never trained to the level I have them performing at now. Had to replace about 6 key people too (they couldn't hack it with all the changes), so huge learning curve for the new employees. I'm almost there with my protege Sales Manager, once he's on his own that takes the entire department off my hands aside from the high level shit. I'm the management representative for the QMS too so I gotta get my compliance coordinator up to snuff so she can take all that off my hands. She was a receptionist, then purchasing assistant, then my personal assistant. Once I seen her potential I took her down the QA path now she's damn near a quality mgr. She will be soon. Still also my personal assistant tho, I ain't about to give that part up. I am running Sales, Marketing, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Procurement, Website, I do all my own hiring/firing. Wrote an app for our internal audit program, we literally do audits on tablets now. I fucking love the challenge, but I am almost ready to start doing more travel so I can spend more time at the Raytheons/Northrops/Boeings & shit. Spent some time at SpaceX last year, we are one of the primary suppliers for several major space companies. Want to see something interesting check out SpinLaunch.
