ya hof battles can only be held to the standard of that era really. u could make the case that 50% of all battles today are "better" than a lot of the old shit, but that doesnt mean we should be inducting every other battle. its just about being among the best of that particular era.

and i do agree with spit that sometimes that right statement can hit harder than any word play with a tough enough personal behind it. sometimes trying to get witty with a personal takes away from the sting of it. that shit just doesn't fly today so i don't really do it anymore but i definitely used to.

but I do agree w/Bar that it's always better if you can add wp to it WITHOUT taking away from the sting of the personal.. for me, if I can say something hurtful but adding wp will take away from the gut-wrenching truth of the statement.. I'll ride w/the statement alone. But that's me, and I have battle experience that goes beyond text & the net so that's probably a huge factor in why I feel that way
