The voting is awful on this site.
I'm not referencing one of my battles. I'm just reading votes in other battles, and it's like you guys skim the lines and throw out random ratings.
One guy had a nice, fresh punch, and the voter said it was irrelevant when actually it was a personal. Take five seconds to re-read the punch if you have to. People are dropping good stuff, especially a few guys who keep getting hated on on. The voters are wasting those efforts.

You write in the voice of someone from 1742. Write how you talk. I've read the word "jest" and "thee" in one of your verses. Name one time you've spoke those words out loud in 2017. If the topic was: "From the perspective of an 1800s gold miner, write a verse that..." you'd crush it writing in that voice.
People are so worried about multi-syllable rhymes that they force words into their verses that just sound awful. Sometimes it's OK to not have every syllable rhyme if it means the line sounds like normal speech. Ever take an English college course? That's like the first thing they teach.
My TBFL was the most broken down vote in that forum. Because I didn't go line for line doesn't mean it wasn't a quality vote. I called out the good and bad parts of each verse and explained why each worked or didn't work.
You guys are losing sight of quality vs. quantity.
Stop being butthurt because someone new is pushing everyone here to do their best and, you know, improve.
