I feel ya man. I used to do strictly poetry but then I kept getting hate for rhyming so much so I switched to topical and now it's basically all I do.
I used to rhyme a fuck ton. Grabbed really big words that sounded cool in the dictionary and thesaurus. Was like, damn look how fuckin' smart I am putting these words together and "shit, look at all these rhymes. I flow like a faucet I'm so dope." Lmfao, I look back on that old shit and saw how thin my material really was.

Word. It's a real talent to rhyme consistently but still tell a coherent story.

I hate when people complain about rhyming in poetry lol. I wrote poems before I started rapping. Sometimes I still do. But I like rhyming when I write poetry too if I feel the need to.
