I actually caused a lot of dudes to up their game back when I declared myself Wordplay Wizard. It sparked a lot of talk about who's wordplay was better and dudes elevated their game because of it. Anybody that remembers that time knows that this is true.
I like wordplay.
But I like schemes better tbh. Has there been a text battler who was known for scheming?

When the site shifted ownership from openmic to goldmic, yes. But I and many others were grandfather'd in, we didn't have to pay for shit. Plus the only thing the prime account gave you was access to leaderboards, nothing else special as wel as the amount of tracks you can upload on your myspace style profile, they had going. It was more of a social network then anything else. Good site for those who wanted to make it outside of texting and audio battling. I had a few tracks placed up myself. I was HOF'd there, ranked top 10 from like 2001 till like 2004 then took a 4 year hiatus and when I came back in 09, I was still top 20, lol. Then the site went down. Lost all my verses that I had archived and battles, dude. I was actually pissed for a while. Had like 75 battle verses archived, man. MY overall record on GM was, 60-5 and my audio record was 15-1.

I have the battle hack in my old laptop. The only thing is, the old laptop is fried and wont start up. If I can get it started, I can email you the PHP. It also has with in the coding, a "Challenge" button that is placed underneath the user names. When challenged, a PM is sent from the challenger stating; "So and So has challenged you to a 16 line text battle" After you clicked the challenge button, you had dropped down options, number of lines and type of battle, whether audio, video and or text. Shit was dope. If I can just get that laptop started, I have the coding saved in my notepad. I can email it too you. I'm not sure if it would work on the new hack, tho. The last VB forum it worked on was back in 2010, and I'm sure VB has changed mad shit, no?
