mine is nylon too... it works pretty well though... I stand back a good 10-12 inches from the mic anyway...

Yeh Ive only heard my mic pop a few times without a pop filter and even at that they were tiny pops... I normally place it quite far away from the vocalist's mouth too since the signal/noise is 90dB

The 2nd is a sort of double filter? Would be good if the vocalist was very quiet and close to the mic

if you're not doing this for fun then you should care more about your recording. You need a recording booth. and you need some good gear. or you need to record in a studio. and even if you don't record in a studio, you need to get your songs mixed in one. or at least buy an engineer in a project studio.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish with your setup?
Recording basic shit. I haven't had a stable recording environment since last spring. It's killing me. I'm going to work my way up to having all that shit but for now, all i can afford is the basics my man.

what kind of budget you workin with right now? refusing to put effort into building a proper environment is shooting yourself in the foot. spending $200 on a piece of foam is a poor decision when you're working with a small budget. And your sound will never be right if you don't put effort into your setup no matter how much equipment you have or what gadgets you buy.
that's why i have you and all these other studio engineers.
