A curveball thrown, & a curveball missed, the pitcher on the mound

Stepping in the batters box, one out in the bottom of the ninth inning
A comeback is needed, with the Cubs trailing, and the Sox winning
Number three hits a fly ball to right field, its drops in for a base hit
He makes it to first base easy, as the balls thrown to the pitchers mitt
(Announcer: Now Batting: Number 22)
BALL 4!!! Take your base!!!, the umpire yells, the pitcher gave up walk
The pitching coach runs out of the dugout, him & the pitcher need to talk!
(Announcer: Now Batting: Number 14)
The first pitch is a strike!!! Thrown right down the heart of home plate
He throws the next pitch in the same place, the batter hits it straight
Up the middle for a base hit, and now the bases are loaded for the best
Its number 2’s turn to take a shot at getting some runs, but hes put to rest
(Announcer: Now Batting: Number 1)
He pitches, STRIKE 1!!! STRIKE 2!!! BALL 1!!!, BALL 2!!!, BALL 3!!!,
With the count full, 3 balls and 2 strikes, the batter and pitcher are angry
The next pitch is a knuckleball, only travelling 60 MPH, number 1 swings
The bat and ball make contact, the ball flies in the air, as if it had wings
(Announcer: Will It Stay In Fair Territory?)
Soaring though the air, down the third base line, will it be foul? Will it be fair?
Near the warning track, almost out of the park, the left fielder jumps in the air
A GRAND SLAM!!! HE KNOCKS THE BALL OUT INTO THE STANDS!!!
The crowd goes crazy, CUBS WIN!! CUBS WIN!! 30 thousand clapping hands
Game Over!!!

I liked the concept, originality is like golddust in open mic. Your imagery made the scene easy to visualise so you've got the 2 best qualities of a topical writer right there man. Just focus on bringing your vocab up a notch and adding some multi's and you'll be in the hall of fame before you know it.
