Tried a new format... hope y'all like it.
As The Petals Fall
Twisting, turning, softly resisting churning
Suspended in air, they flutter and dance.
An existing burning of passion, insisting yearning
Is born inside me. Witnessing this subtle romance
As they prance, merely momentarily airborne
They drift. Displaying their acrobatic skills
Charismatic wills, my emotions primarily torn.
I am an ecstatic fanatic, dramatically ill.
With an erratic will, still they aimlessly plummet.
In the sunlight they reveal, flashing their colours
Tumbling to the earth, yet reaching for the summit
Each doomed to the ground to crash with their brothers.
At last comes another, destined to the breezy slope.
In need of a rope, it falls, wind beneath its curves
Unable to pull itself back up, full of an uneasy hope.
Downwards they go, in the breeze they swivel and swerve.
My shrivelled nerve hurts, though they have my fears swallowed
They are consumed with all the troubles I sought.
And as the petals fall my tears are soon to follow
She loves me. She loves me not.
