I've decided to try something a little different with the mag this week which I think will provide for a much more entertaining read! Having said that...

Alright everyone, here is a quick recap of last weeks battles. The lack of depth in this area will be made up in other areas of this mag, I promise.

The Interview
This week, I decided to sit down with last years runner-up, Jay Walker, to ask him some questions about the league. Anyway, here's what he had to say.

DaTrusHurtz: well whatever amount of work you've done seems to be working as a lot of heads are able to elevate to decent, but then get stuck on getting to that next level. What else besides attitude and hard work do you feel is important to get to that level
Jaembe412: consistancy, and not caring what people say about your shit. it can only bring you down.
DaTrusHurtz: That's definately good advice seeing how so many people are easily influenced by just 1 or 2 mean votes

DaTrusHurtz: Unfortunately the haters can get annoying over a long period of time when the same people vote against you week after week. The 1-2 league has been a league this season featuring many questionable votes. As a whole how do you feel voting has been in the 1-2 league this season and what do you attribute any poor voting to?
Jaembe412: it blows, really. i understand that alot of people want to be in the league, and alot of people are ready for the league. they are to influenced by what the voters type instead of the punches typed. i think alot of follow the leader shit goes on, or even d'r votes for wack heads to try and get on better terms

DaTrusHurtz: Well that would help solve the problem of newbies who do not understand punches voting, but what about d/r? What do you think can be done to prevent hate voting and vets voting for their friends

Jaembe412: lmao, well, truthfully, im one of the bad voters [only because there are so many pieces of shit in the league], so i'm not inside that forum very much...but i do usually try to hit up the ones i think'll be good...but still, to answer your question the best i can, even though i dont always agree with the votes, elemental soul and yourself always vote who, and leave a good explaination for it.
DaTrusHurtz: lol, thanks, and I agree with elemental. He takes a lot of heat sometimes on his explanations, but votes very well on almost every battle. Alright, moving away from voting since the 1-2 league has other issues going on, tell me who you think some of the more underrated and overrated people in the league are right now and who will be exposed come playoff time

Top 10 Awards
I thought it would be interesting to take a look into the past to see who's been dropping fire week after week. So, I have taken a tally of the number of times each person has been in the top 10 punches since Born started it in week 2. The current leader may surprise some of you, but as someone who reads just about every battle every week, I'd have to say he has definately been the most consistent all year of any person in the league. The Predictions
Well, I got 15/17 right last week of the matches where both people showed. A week 9 mag shoutout to Just So Unreal and Axe for proving me wrong on my predictions. Here's my fearless forecast for Week 10, the final week of the season!
Spitacular (7-2) vs. Kapitolins (2-3) - Well both no showed last week. If both show, I don't see Spit's losing streak continuing.
Urban Myth (3-1) vs. Kun Ive Ah (3-2) - This could go either way as both are still elevating, but I think Kun Ive Ah is slightly better.
Industry (3-3) vs. K (4-4) - K is better, but I think Industry will put more time into his punch and take this.
Metafourical (5-4) vs. Steveontrial (2-1) - Meta didn't show last week. Show or not, I think Steve will surprise some people in this one.
Mel Tingpoint (2-2) vs. DJB (1-1) - Mel has some creative concepts but is inconsistent. He could surprise here, but more likely DJB will take it.
Macabro (7-2) vs. Rule (6-3) - This one should be good. If Mac comes as nice as he has all season he'll win it.
See Sic (3-1) vs. I'm Deon (2-0) - If this were a graphics battle See Sic would own. It's not though.
Tagailo (5-2) vs. L.I. (3-0) - Very even match right here with two talented heads. Tag will give LI his first loss of the season here.
Rile1(4-1) vs. PicturePerfect2 (1-1) - Rile1 is 4-1?!? Make that 5-1 as he'll win again.
Nib Oswald (1-3) vs. Spunk Master Sex (6-3) - Socrates didn't show last week. If he shows here he'll win, no question.
SirusX (4-1) vs. Karl Merks (3-3) - SirusX has been consistently nice all season. I see no reason for that to change.
Twixn (6-3) vs. Aines (7-2) - Rematch from earlier in the season that Aines took. I see Twixn getting revenge this time.
Axe (4-3) vs. Just so unreal (4-5) - I was wrong predicting against Unreal last time, but I'm doing it again. Axe just is better.
Laureate (6-3) vs. Derive (5-4) - Derive is better than his record shows, he'll sneak away with this one.
Seyance (4-4) vs. SDizzle (4-5) - A rematch from just last week that Dizzle won. Nothing will change this time.
OV Dose (5-4) vs. Elemental Soul (6-3) - Dose got off to a hot start due to some no-shows, but has been fizzling lately.
DaTrusHurtz (8-1) vs. BKS (1-0) - BKS had the punch of the week last week. Will he come just as nice to beat Trus?
Slick vs. Whimsical - After a close loss to Com, Whimsical will easily win this, he's much wittier and better.
LW CONTENDER - Timothaos (7-2) vs. Com (5-1) - Both have come nice all season. Com is the favorite, but I sniff an upset.
MW TITLE - Chewy (8-1) vs. Chrit (8-1) - Another great one right here. Hard to make a call on this one, but I say Chewy defends the title.
HW TITLE - Lay Doubt (8-1) vs. Jay Walker (7-2) - If Jay doesn't try too hard here and force his wordplay he'll win.
The Conclusion
Well that concludes the Week 9 Magazine here at the 1-2 league. Give me some feedback on how you enjoyed this mag compared to past ones, I think it's much better and I will continue this sort of style throughout the playoffs. Guys, you never want to be coming off a loss going into the playoffs, you need a win to give you the confidence to keep winning when it actually matters so lets see some good mean punches this week!
