They fill us up with these thoughts that they later will crush
They never think of the cost of what they tell you means much
That every time that they say that you can, but soon dont
And everytime that we plan for the life they say wont
The build us up to go down, they tell us right but then left
They tell us smile, dont frown, but dont get hopes up, regret
And its no wonder these kids dont wanna play be the rules
Theyre so confused by it all, so they go shoot up their schools
It's like theyre sick of the bullshit, that we adults put em through
Though we were once at that age, we cant conceive what they prove
They prove to us that we're wrong, they prove to us that theyre lost
They prove that we are the problem, they prove that we can not solve
And they have proved to us all what they can and cant do
They proved that we have evolved, by all the lies theyve consumed
I once believed in their words, of how they said I wont last
Of how they said I cant make it, that's where theyre wrong, it's MY past...

That doesnt mean that youre doomed to fall, in time, where they fell
It only means that there's tests along this road that we take
And every step that we make may hit a stone, and we break
But thats why we get up again, and dust off all the pain
Sometimes we must take a hand to help us up from the shame
But that doesnt mean quit, and it doesnt mean cry
It only means that we've tripped, it doesnt mean we cant climb
It doesnt mean that theyre right, it doesnt mean you were wrong
It doesnt mean that this life isnt worth living at all
It just means that youre strong, to carry on and have hope

Look all your foes in the eye as they doubt you and smile
