When it comes to topicals, I have to admit that, unless there isn't a clear distinction, as in "okay, here's the topic, this is where I'm going with it, now what's the best way to get the reader there, too?" it's really difficult to maintain concentration in reading it. There was alot of wordplay here, in the sense that you were toying with them as creatively as you willed, but it didn't help to get me there, or to keep my interest. The rhyme structure didn't work all that well for me either, I prefer each bar to progress in a manner that is enveloping, that pulls my attention, and takes the necessary steps to pace the topic. That never really happened here.
