The Illyricist - My Name is God (1) YES

    My Name Is God

    BANG!

Seas of the expanse expand into constellations
As my hand grants a starlit trance across galactic formations
An artist above nations where I flick my wrist to make universes
I rehearsed this from Sodom to Noah as blood paints my verses
Magician or mathematician Iíve stated my name as a vision
Within the Holy mission written in bloody incisions
Spelling crimson schisms that have driven the MuslimÖ
    and the Christian.

A singer of false stories sold to manís fingers
That slither around the apple, I was the snake that said come hither
As my silver tongue quivered and beckoned until you bit it
Even if you didnít I am the decider of forbidden and what isnít
I am the giver and a killer upon the worldís river
Never withered, you think you have me figured?
I pull the trigger, beg to differ but my scope doesnít have a limit!

Matrices defined of the undefined mind
These galaxies refined of the decided time
Burnt out stars are etched to these hands of mine
Building shimmering seas of midnight gleams that shine

And Iím full of laughter because you canít fathom
The maximum patterns that I can imagine
So I watch you lose the fabric and turn it to magic,
Tragic, so fun to witness the fits of irrational passion
Lighting the flames of radical madness!

Beginning, middle and end I always am
Spinning little men on fields of the damned
But isnít this what you requested?
Predestined, to death and, you bled him for the sake of a blessed lamb...

Yet he still wonders when Iíll return again from the dead
Wine upon the bread and the tainted streams of the when

I smile and flip forward the pages
The greatest trick of the ages, a puppeteer of the stages, your races and changes caught in my cages
Lift my mask to say this and just this in the name of your veiled justice...

"Hello men; my name is God...
and Iím just a man with a pen."

i really liked this. im kind of torn to be honest. it's a great piece, probably my favorite out of the month. i'm just not sure if it's up there with what is considered hof. but, i really dug this concept and his execution. it read easily, and actually had a progressive story. although i'm sure most people will vote no, i'm still going to go ahead and vote yes on this. i really enjoyed it.

I enjoyed this original storytelling with a twist all of its own.
I think this writing has the capacity to suck the reader in, taking him on a ride where
he forgets he's reading. I think the subject matter was organically written on this one,
even though the subject is old, the angle he came with is new, so for that alone, and
of course the talent involved, having enjoyed it so much, I vote-Yes

I read this and I thought that this dude has really came a long way with his writing. He is taking more chances and this here was a highlight of his progression, and this piece showed what he has in the tank when it come to topicals. He brought that movement that almost tell your mind to lead and let your eyes follow. Em hit it on the head about the ability to have us immersed in the writing rather than reading and trying to decipher a beat. Green light this one
