I'm confused how record companies pay... I mean they obviously make money. BUT, like why would you get a set amount on an album and not pro rate it based on sales to begin with like... Here is your per diem until it drops - then comes your bonus pay out type. ALSO, are they all independent contractors - why wouldn't the labels join and umbrella it like a corporation? At least insurance would be cheap... IDK, I hate logistics - just food for thought.
