[Zen the Dude]

I've said too many 'hello's'.
Never had time for goodbyes.
I've seen the faces of martyrs
Die before my eyes.

I remember speed racing on the carpet,
and feeling the burning when I slide.
Only early morning cartoons
Made me to go to sleep at night.

Spent afternoons at the ball park.
Kept hitting pop flies.
I somersaulted on trampolines
Right into the star's light.

I've been skywalking.
Only to ease my mind.

Nice to see you write something here again Zen.
I like this simple, clean, poem.
It takes you back to a childhood state and lets you
re-live certain moments that were full of purity.
I think the only sentence that sticks out to me is the
martyr line, I don't know, for some reason it seems
imo, like it doesn't fit there. It's probably
just me but it seems too serious a word when I'm projecting
myself into cartoons and sliding on carpets and trampolining.
But this is a sweet, short poem and I enjoyed reading it.
The pace was nice too.
