@Mimic What do you mean set this place straight. I dont find that much of a problem with it. I post feedback here more than most people. Sure i havent done it for a week or two or more. But i got other things to focus on than just audio.


People seem to be adding new songs every so often. Its a hell of a lot more active than half a year ago when i was posting more songs. Then i stopped to focus more on my other passions.

So whoever in here knows, I got a question coz I never tried to do it before and wondering how it works... when DJ's scratch with vinyls or whatever to make their beats... how do they record that? Like, if I picked up a record and it's got DJ scratches on, how did they record that shit?? Curious coz I thought it would be fun to make a beat and throw some scratches over it, but don't know how to record that into the DAW, never done it before. So, people that do that, or know how, what up with that?

im assuming u can do it directly in the mic but make sure u separate it from ur vocals in multi track

Good old youtube, yeah I'll do that. Don't wanna mic it up, that's just gonna introduce noise and ain't no way my $300 mic is as good as what they used originally to record the source files. There'll definitely be a way to do it via interface/ADC I'm guessing.

Its definitly fun. Scratchng has a subliminal energy to it that is hype and cool in my opinion.

Personally im just using an auxirillary cord attached to my karioke machine that the tables are hooked up to.

I needed a 3.5 mm jack aux cord (althought there might be 3.5 to 3.5 cords out there. I had to use another adapter to make the red n white adapt into a 3.5 so i could plug the 6mm over it..).so yeah a 6mm adapter jack. Like the ones amplifiers use. Then i plug the big jack into my karioke, and the 3.5 into the computer. Wither way works.

I change the computer audio port i used to 'line in' I do that in my sound card prog in the bottom right thingy by the time. Usually a little window will pop up and ask you what you would like the jack to do. Line in. Line out. rear speakers. Front speakers, sub. etc.


Something like that. I never googled how to do it. But this way seems solid. and with windows 7 my computer now reconises the line in as sepperate from the speakers, so it wont record a beat too if i play an MP3 while i scratch.

but yeah googling or youtubing might clear some things up.

Word. I didnt youtube how to do mine. Mine was all just info i had gained over the years fucking with car audio and home sterios. Its how i would hook up my mp3 players.


oh yeah. I forgot to say on the karaoke machine. What i plugged the 6mm into was the line out port. And then the computer is set to line in. Then in cool edit pro i change the recording device order from samsung co3u1 to line in. and press record.

I do still make music from time to time. I have no motive anymore so I do it as a hobby more than anything else now. Work is enough to get me ghost.
