id think that smoking weed causing you to gain brain cells would depend on the person....
smoking ANYHTING....whether it be weed, a cigarette or a piece of lettuce, can reduce your brain cells from the toxins in it...weed isnt all good, nor all bad...
BUT....weed stimulates thought in most of us...and thinking rebuilds brain cells....
so those of us who smoke weed and sit there and think about shit, i could see it being beneficial for...those who smoke weed and just drool on themselves, i dont think it would help...

ya that was just something he mentioned, not really the focus. the whole talk is amazing.
the idea that a healthy lifestyle will change ur genes astonishes me. so i wonder, if u have children, does a healthy lifestyle change the genes that are passed down to them? and the opposite as well, does a shitty lifestyle mean u'll pass worse genes down than otherwise?
this also kind of plays into the idea that thinking and being positive will make good things happen for you. i'm not a religious person, and i believe in nothing supernatural, but i've always thought that everything could be interconnected (sorta like in Avatar lol) in a way that would make for our thoughts and attitudes to be able to have an effect on reality.
