Get a little rhythm in you...

This is a new drum track i'm working on, i'm trying to make something a little more complex than the average (just got the verse atm), could do with some tips on how to improve it.

What do you think i should add to it?

    Cheers all.

I was going to but trying to make it into a full track with short hooks first. Need a simple catchy melody for it too i recon.

I like that drum at the beginning olie. And through out. Nice beat. I don't know much about the technical side of music, so I can't give much
feed other than to say, I would like to see it broken up a bit. But then upon reading what you wrote ^^^^ up there^^^
you pretty much nailed it yourself. A nice melody, catchy and simple would make this piece of music pretty cool.
Good job olie. I like it.

I love the scratching on it.. got a mean vibe for an old school type joint.. huge potential.
Maybe add a higher sounding scratch every 4 bars or so to drag out the character of it a little more...
I like it the way it is though tbh...

Thanks everyone for feedback, i will test out that higher scratch thing later. So far i've beefed out the drums to a full track and it feels a lot more structured now but i've tried a couple melodies and i'm not getting too far with it.

This is pretty cool. Kind of feel like its missing something though. Cant exactly tell you what. just my personal opinion. Its probably the scratching. Sounds good but spomething standout would complete the beat./

lol if your just trying to keep it the bones than this is pretty dope. id chop! honestly to keep it building its dying for a synth and deep bassline in there, brass instrument would sound nice in there. but as far as the skeleton, only thing i could think of is diversifying in the scratches maybe cool beat, different

I went a little off the wall with the melody, got a couple basic ideas i need to build on but at the moment it looks like i'm going to be using the Arabic scale with a mellow sounding guitar for the lead.

I've cut down on the scratches a bit and added a tape echo to some of them.

    Update
    Here's one idea:
