A Captain needs a crew to pursue an’ attack the thrashing beast
Combatting until we subdue the advancing splashing reach…
Of this water breaching, fire unleashing species
Elemental sieges from the vengeful deeps with…
The souls of men beneath it…
Competing to feast on each ship…
It sinksin sync with stormy releases…
…Of waves that peak with invasive leaps
‘Need courageous feet, unafraid of thedangers faced
To chase this displaced water based invader to the grave
I recruited for days and weeks…
...But the truth isthe youth were afraid to speak
…An’ antique physiques, the ranks increased, I needed sailors
They made their excuses leaving the weak…
The advantage of age was technique and behaviour
Ready to brave the 7 sea’s in search of the Serpent
We set sail on the next breeze with a thirst…
…An’ as the weather worsened so grew my hunger
I was immersed in a world of lightening an’ thunder
Hunting for the blight of this ocean tundra
As we floated I wondered if we’d ever succeed
My leads nevermeasurable to its awesome speed
Exhausted we weaved and meandered…
I believed in revenge for the damned that…
…Are stranded including my wife and kids
He took the life we lived, filled me with an appetite to kill
To rid, to fulfil,to give my family the sleep that they will…
Then one morning-Instilled with adrenalin…
I spotted its wings, “time to give chase gentlemen”
We hoist the sails developin’ speed
Narrowing its lead like galloping steeds
But the cannon’s didn’t make the animal bleed!
Jus’ the water receded, but I wouldn’t concede defeat
Or retreat, we charged with a barrage ofattacks
Masts snapped as we smashed an’ thrashed…
And crashed into the monsters thorax
It tore up and collapsed, roared, ruptured the floor………..
-He didn’t write or record anymore
I found this journal in a bottle at the shore,
…guess now he’s with his family, united once more
Riding in the jaws of that serpentine force!
