your link is to lady gaga ear buds lol

I think all products by hp are shit. Putting "beats" on it is just a shameless marketing scheme.

I'd get a mac book, or mac book pro, if I were you.

if you're gonna have a home studio setup, your comp's stock soundcard will become irrelevant, so wastin' money on one with Beats sound isn't necessary... you really want a workhorse type comp without a bunch of bloated add-on shit...

I was thinking of getting one of these beat laptops or desktops as well.

If you look at the stuff that matters on them, processor, ram etc they are much much better for the equal priced mac computers

I was thinking desktop tho, since I could update stuff easier on it..

Again tho IDK much about comps, but I don't understand why people would still get a new Mac these days when you can get more for your money with pc products ATM

why would the beats audio become irrelevant? if you don't mind explaining, I was planning on buying 1 of these mainly for beats audio

The Mac OSX is just leaps and bounds over windows for audio production.

Yea, you could probably do a pc build for cheaper with better specs, but it won't run certain audio programs as well, from my experience.

BTW you can't get much more, if we're comparing this hp vs a mac book pro

I'd go with the mac any day.

Tebo, if you're serious about a home setup u'll end up buyin' an audio interface... an interface takes the place of your comp's stock soundcard... the soundcard gets disabled and no longer used, so bye bye Beats... no decent studio setup will be runnin' through a built-in soundcard, even one as "good" as Beats...

I've got an interface with a rode K2 mic. But you`re right, I never really thought of the interface taking over the soundcard, you make a real solid point there..

I guess the laptop could still come in handy with beats if you`re on the go, but the desktop beats would be irrelevant

That mac is $1425 when you add to cart, for the exact same price you could get:

    +Plus usb 3.0

The only things really better is it`s operating system, but I heard windows 8 is going to be real good when it comes out, and like you said certain audio programs running better

quick question for those who are familiar with corny marketing: "Turbo Boost" is just a way of branding over-clocking right?

If so, I'd make sure everything within that computer is capable of handling over clocking.

loolol at mentioning usb 3.0. it's practically irrelevant technology with thunderbolt being 10x faster.

again, unless you're to be running a 64 track session with hundreds of plugins, you don't really need 8gigs of ram. I've done 24 track sessions with my 2gigs and been fine. I could Run MW3 on my comp with 8 gigs of ram, and it will be enough.

Depends what purpose the computer will have.

If you want to be set on something that runs windows(because of cost), I'll help you build a decent desktop.
