It's stupid to invite Common to the White House just as it's stupid to invite Johnny Cash to the White House just as it's stupid to make Arnold Schwarzenegger some kind of White House Ambassador for Health when he's been jacked on steroids forever.
Politics/Celebrity SHOULDN'T MIX.
Common doesn't know a damn thing about running or bettering a country neither does Johnny Cash's drunk ass, neither did Arnold...as we can see from his leadership in California.
Invite people who can help better the country. If inviting Common to the White House suddenly dropped unemployment from nearly 10%...to something better...then yes, it was a smart move. If not, then it's fuckin stupid.

Common wasn't invited to the White House to fix the country. He was there to recite poetry. It's completely appropriate for him to be there in that capacity. The issue here is that Common is being accused of being violent, when in reality, he is anything but.
And I have some serious issues with the Obama administration and his policies, but criticizing him for taking one night off to hold a poetry slam, is not worth anyone's time. Do you really want people to bring up the amount of holiday that George Bush took during his presidency? Because that is where this discussion will end up going if you keep pushing this argument to it's logical conclusion.
