A rational way of dealing with something is making a decision based on reason and sensibility. An irrational one is not. He cheated on you. Rationally, you have plenty of reason to leave him and moving on is the sensible thing to do.
You continuing to be with him despite dealing with physical pain, nauseousness and lack of trust THEN justifying it with your silly and naive belief that "people can change" is an irrational decision that is neither reasonable or sensible.
