My card got rejected last night :(

So, I went to the Cavs game vs Bobcats last night just to watch Lebron James and wow what a game. Dude beasted and clowned the fuck out of the Bobcats.

I bet that 3 pointer he did over two defenders will make it on the top highlights tomorrow.

After I went with a couple friends bowling to StrikeCity, right next to the the arena. Order food for my friends & I, and when I got the check, I gave her my card. Waiting for about 5 minutes until she came back, and she said my card was invalid.

So fucking embarrassing. I had to get my friend who is visiting to pay because I had spent my cash for the Lebron James game.

My card worked perfectly fine at the parking garage afterwards, but I won't know what's the problem until tomorrow morning.

Probably a mistake with their system, but still embarrassing that I got rejected.

Anyone has ever encountered this?

Yes. It happened to me when I was out in Cali last year. Shit sucked ass. But I was strapped for cash, and was banking on the Army paying me some money that they had owed me. They never did, and my mom had to keep fronting me money while I was out there so that I didn't get any overdraft fees. And I was simply trying to buy necessities. Wasn't out shopping and shit.

Actually it happened to me again at Walmart tonight, but I know I have money so it was something with their system. It denied it as Credit, so I did it again as Debit and it worked. Whatever.

Shit sucks though..especially when people are in line behind you. It's like awe, fuck. And I never carry cash, so when it happens..I'm fucked. Hasn't happened since I've had a job though. Plus I've been better at watching my spending.

It happened to me all the time in Germany. My bank kept locking my card because they still couldn't grasp the fact that I was stationed there. So I had to constantly call them and have them unlock my card and remind them that it's me and I'm in Germany. Fucking Commerce/TD Bank.

My current account lets me overdraft without limit. It costs 38.00 to do so, each time, but it accepts all charges/debits even if no money is in the bank.

I also have an AMEX corporate card...that's a nice back-up to have. Thank you, capitalism!

I guess, if the online system were down, I'd be in a bit of a pickle, cuz I rarely carry cash these days.

Perhaps I should keep a c-note hidden in my wallet as emergency money?

I used my bank card. It was a problem with it this morning. They fixed it, but that still doesn't change the fact that I got put on the spot last night.

I refuse to use my credit cards, so I usually keep em at home. I only carry one card. But now I know I should carry a backup just in case.

Only time my card hasn't worked properly was trying to put some gas in my car. The machine outside wouldn't read it, but when I went inside and swiped it, it was fine. It's only happened at like 2 gas stations..Other than that, it's worked fine. Does have a little scratch on the back of it though, so prolly gunna get a new one for free sometime soon. Normally carry cash as well, so wouldn't be in too much trouble anyhow

My card never declines.. because I only use it on payday... lol
I'm on a budget most of the time, have a little savings but besides
that only use my cards for bills.. I usually keep cash on me or
around me so I don't have to worry about transactions from last
week nailing my ass a week from now..

Besides that, if I deposit my check on Friday.. the muthafucka don't
clear until Monday night.. which is funny because I can swipe my
card at 1am on a Sunday and that fucker clears instantly.
Banks are fucking evil unless you own one.. I only have $1300 left to
pay off on my Discover but that probably won't happen soon.

Credit Cards are the devil...Don't have one and don't plan on ever having one. Fuck buying something you don't have the money for, then once you paid it off, you've paid more than it originally cost in the first place
