Noob Question - Please help!!

Right, i've been doing audio for a while now.. but i never really took it to a serious level untill now, so i've been using a horrible cheap ass mic that has a built in usb chord which you plug straight into the Usb on the computer..

As of tomorrow, im buying a new mic, and obviousley when you buy 'condenser' microphones they don't come with wires/chords and you have to buy them seperate, so is it possible to buy the chords in the same shop that im purchasing the microphone in, i want a Chord that plugs into my mic and straight into the Usb port into my computer, please help me, im so lost with this Chord/Wires shitt....

first off

it's CABLES not chords. We did threads like this before and i forget what people recommended, but just ask them if they have an XLR to USB converter that has pre amp gain control and phantom power.

i can only see a picture of the little bit, i take it it comes with a wire with the usb end?

No. It's a preamp. You have to buy an XLR cable. It doesn't say so, but I'm pretty sure it comes with a USB cable.

What mic do you have now? It's kinda pointless to step up to a non-USB mic and convert it to USB. And honestly, unless you have a truly shitty computer mic then I highly doubt you've gotten all the quality out of it. And if you do have a real shitty computer mic then an upgrade to a USB condenser like the AT2020 will be a significant upgrade.
