Dodging spears, planting seeds for winter harvest
Blood, sweat & tears dripping from brass knuckles
Beings lived in fear hoping dreams wouldn’t buckle.
And tumble as Adam ate from the golden tree.
Turnin’ fallacy to reality; a parable not to be!
Prophets couldn’t see, like visions of Solomon
Kings and queens enslaved us like hollow-men.
Our tongues; razor blades striking the heathen
And all they believed-in, living them bleedin’
Within the walls of Eden but still waters ran deep.
And life was cheap when one came to grips
With a narrow stream leading to direr pastures
Seeing young kids fending for a dying culture
I didn’t get the picture, it was outta the box.
Like a desert fox in the heart of a storm.
Our heritage; torn apart, we couldn’t conform
To the path that was written in the prophecy.
We became scholars to curacy with no courtesy
So we changed policy like world revolution
We became infinite but reeked of pollution.
Unlimited tax and seclusion drove us into a shell
Muscles we flexed couldn’t change the hell
In which we dwell - The last breath of sanity
Came with the mass murder of my village
And my vanity was lost along with the pillage.
