im fairly new to it, i can make nice drum loops but im not too sure about what next, i know you need something on top to give a "tune" (duno how 2 phrase it) that is what gets me....any tips on whats the best instruments to go on top or is trial and error the best thing?
Just play around with sounds, and the rest will build for you..What do you make your beats with,i mean drum loops with?

use 2 mixcraft but moved to fl studio now
Just play around with the sounds and trail and error are really part of making beats,try sounds like synths,lead synths,grand piano,just play the drum loop back and forth and play with the sounds just for a little bit,and see what you come up with.Also try some samples that might work better with drum loops any ways.
