    Best recording software?

You can always just copy and paste the word multiple times to repeat it. You can turn each one down lower for the fading echo effect.

Would that be the best way? I mean I forgot to do it today lol, but I tried that last time, I put the word in its own track and repeated it like 3 times and I couldn't hear nothing even when the volume fader was all the way turnned up.

    Best recording software?

No that's not the best way lol

I told you the best way is to use automation. But that way should work just fine.

If you're copying the word and repeating then it doesn't need to be on a separate track.

I've got it though, its just I hate in aa3 that you can't glue clips together what so ever. I mean you can group them and move them around AS ONE clip, but if you want to go in edit mode it'll all go in individual.

Because edit mode is a wave editor for editing a wave file. You should never be in that mode. Anything you do in that more is permanent. There's no reason for you to ever be in there.

I don't even know if aa3 has automation. And I do alot of stuff in edit mode, normalize for one thing, fading stuff out, cutting, I'm sure a few others things, just can't think off the top now.

    It has automation.

You don't need to be in edit mode at all.

Normalize: no reason to do that.

    Fade out: volume automation

    Cutting: mix mode

    Best recording software?

The waves noise x works in mix mode. Don't know about the built in noise reduction.

But yea... Edit mode is a wave editor. It's meant for mastering a single file. I don't even use destructive editing for mastering either tho.

yeah, no tried x noise, altho i have it..the built in ones pretty good tho.
dont think it will work in mix mode coz you have to select a section of audio to create a profile

what do you mean by you dont use destructive editing for mastering?

    Best recording software?

Audition's Edit mode is a destructive editor. That means everything you do gets permanently written to the actual sound file. Mix mode is nondestructive. It doesn't write the changes to the sound file. Instead, it creates a region file that references the original file. So when you make cuts, trim, etc it just references a smaller part of the original file instead of cutting up the original file. So you can go back and adjust it later. When you duplicate, it doesn't duplicate the sound file, only the region. This saves a lot of disk space and power.

In Pro Tools, I do everything nondestructively. They don't have an edit mode, but you can add fx directly to the region using audiosuite. I always add my fx on the mixer channels, even when mastering.

You can also choose between destructive and nondestructive editing for the session. I never use destructive. Honestly, I don't know why they even offer it.

    Re: Best recording software?

Its never about the software, its about the person who is using it.

I like Pro Tools best though, but its just a matter of beeing used to it.
