Animation...

...is fucking EXPENSIVE. i'm doing a music video that i'm having an artist animate for me out of a star wars themed concept and the shit is expensive as all hell. Seriously, it costs 1000 dollars per minute of animation. The fucking idea itself is going to be revolutionary and something that's going to blow up beyond what i really care to explain but the budget is crazy lol. Word of advice from me, stick to shooting your music videos. Creativity=Expense.

i know ya'll like think i'm bullshitting so i'll load some of the artwork up in the pictures forum. The artists website is www.jeremieart.blogspot.com he's done work with Cartoon Network's adult swim.

Yea that seems below the standard actualy. So most likely the animation will be below standard too. A 30 minute cartoon costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. A $1000 a minute is not that bad at all.

Especialy for animation with lots of action, and ESPECIALY for something you're already calling "revolutionary". Maybe your concept is revolutionary, but for that money I'm finding it hard to believe the execution and rezult will be as well.

But there's alternatives to paying that much, if you know what you're doing. Flash animation is cheaper and alot of cartoons use that today. Depends on the look you're going for though.

Of course it helps if you find someone starting out desperate for work/money.

I could probably get it done cheaper for you. Possibly even free. Not from a Cartoon Network artist, but you get what you pay for. In this case... You're paying for his credits.

I'd heard Family Guy spends about 1 million per episode...and some video games go as far as 20+ million for animation....so agreed with people that say it's relatively cheap....of course it's still not cheap for broke ass people but still for what it is...yeah
