You gotta stop thinking of mics in terms of better or worse. The only way to pick the right mic is to try them out and decide which sound you like the most for what you're using it on.
I really don't need to up my mic quality, I need to learn to mix better and maybe get a better interface/pre.

I guarantee it's more about technique than technology. Recording properly is the key to a good mix.
Well, I'd consider my environment a drawback more than anything. I hardly have space in my room until I make my closet a booth, so I have my mic in the middle of my room, I have shit in every corner lmao.

The majority of your quality issues can be solved with recording better in a better environment. You're basically recording in the worst environment. There's really no reason to record in the middle of your control room with a closet available. When I mobile record I turn peoples closets into a booth in like a half hour.
fuck. you win.

I have a AT2020 and I'm happy with it. I bought a Presonus Audiobox to use with it and shit is smooth. I recommend the AT2020.
