You can use the GIMP, which is available for free download from gimp.org. The GIMP comes with a help index that should be able to help you learn the basics.Originally Posted by Asian Roulette
Now, with an animated GIF in the GIMP, each new layer you create in the GIMP becomes its own frame, the first layer being the first frame, the last being the last. If any layers are transparencies, as the animation progresses, these frames will appear over the other frames, but the previous frames will show through the blank spaces in the transparency. This can be useful, but it can also be an aggravation, so I thought I should warn you.
Once you have your image created with all your layers, do a Save As, and select file type as GIF (or add the extension .gif). A dialogue box will appear asking you if you want to flatten the image or save it as an animation. You will want to select Save as Animation. There are two other things to attend to in the Save As process (they might be on the same dialogue box, or a different one; I can't remember). You will need to specify the rate each frame cycles (this will be in milliseconds, or thousandths of a second) and you will need to specify whether the animation plays once, or loops forever. And thats it

The middle and last one is nice.
props.
Very nice, quite impressive haven't seen work this good since Cras or Death By FX on my old site. Keep up the splendid work, although I must say I do not like Gimp.
