I NEED HELP WITH EDITING mY SHIT!!!
Ight its been a long time since i last asked for some help...but i finally got my new mic...n ive been laying all these tracks down...i was just wondering if anyone wud be so kind as to help me edit them up...im using COOL EDIT PRO 2.1...if u can help or know anyone who can help just get at me when u can...thanx a ton...n fuck u haters...
oh i just saw...that sticky bout mastering in cool edit...but i still might need additional help...

anyway... look for a bootleg Audition 3, at LEAST... there's no reason to use that ancient ass CEP... AA3 is just as easy, and way more competent... I'll gladly help you with it later on...

Search youtube tutorials, some of them go step by step for mixing rap vocals etc. Theres tons so I doubt you'll have a hard time finding one.

there is no guide, i guess i do something along these lines but then agian i usually do something different every time...
record at around -15 to -20db
drop volume on beat, bring up track levels
add noise reduction, cutting, muting etc
1. track 1. main vocal pan centre, no effects (if i add reverb i tend to leave it off the dub track or vice versa)
2. track 2. overdubs, pan 20% right or left, small reverb
3. track 3. adlibs if required, bit of delay
4. track4,5,6,7,8 chorus, panned -100, 100, 50, -50 and 0, add some reverb/delay to taste
5. compress verses dubs on bus 1
6.compress choruses bus 2
7. stick a limiter on the master, something like a waves L3 (give it that 24bit hot and crunchy preset lol)
a lot of rap is the sound of compression
or maybe not..
but really the best thing you can do is join a dedicated music site

You could download a cracked version of AA3 etc or
Download reaper and audacity (legally)...cost you next to nothing and there is nothing you cannot do in those programs
You can open audacity in reaper to do your editing because its a lot easier than the reaper layout.
and by editing i mean editing, cutting/choppin/nudging/fading not mixing as im sure you were refering to in the thread title
