shouldnt shorter lines be better though because its more direct

that's why text battling has been on the decline the past few years
people are trying to shorten the LENGTH of their lines, which gives u less room to be creative
so now that means your concepts and punchlines will be weaker
I used to do this YEARS ago, then i stepped away from the scene for a while, but back then the illest concepts you would see were the ones where people would allow themselves the room and word space to be as creative as possible
But at sites like this, people call that stretched.. even if the punchline is ill as shit, they'll say it's stretched just because the line looks long
Honestly, the whole text section on this site needs to re-evaluate the creativity level that is being spawned here
at the rate it's going, there will be NO punchlines in battle verse.. I'm already seeing the trend, how people are starting to revert to corny jokes and little one-liners for punchlines
that's the beginning of the decline right there

so my advice to you will be - don't follow the trends that are being set here... allow yourself to be as creative as you can be
you might want to venture out to other sites while ur here just to get a grasp of what type of concepts and setups are being used, and just soak in the intelligence level from the verses that you read
