its a bit different to normal house isn't it? with like african/latin percussion and shit rather than four on the floor? don't know much about it, just remember reading about it one night and looking up some stuff on youtube. seemed like there's some cool soundin shit out there.

the UK's idea of funkyhouse is actually far from the proper ones, it's mostly repetitive london-inspired chants over shit attempts at african-ish beats
