power ties are usually tacky imo..

nothing wrong with a solid color...don't make it black or dark brown or anything...a lighter color would be good..eye catching..but yet not too distracting..

if it works for you do it, i mean you wouldn't be able to notice it as much though.....just wear a nice ironed , no wrinkles in it, dress shirt, with some dress pants, and if you dont got dress shoes, a crisp pair of white forces or black.
