As far as adding an effect to a MIDI out, not possible. If you're using softsynths, then you would assign a channel to that synth and add fx there. Doing things this way would require multiple instances of the same plugin... (lame) If you're using hardware, you could record a dry signal of your pattern, assign that audio clip to a channel and add fx.. (Not as lame but still quite lame)
It also looks like "Enable Multiple Outs" really depends on if the softsynth is compatible with that feature. (lame unless its compatible). To quote your page:
The "Enable Multiple Outputs" also depends on how many outputs the softsynth allows, I have Hypersonic and that allows up to 4 outputs, but it has "onboard" effects so I usually just do my mixing and effects "in the box" by either clicking around in the plugin or assigning controls in the midi out channel.Note in the screenshot that this is done on the GPO channel and not on any of the MIDI out channels - you can't actually "assign" the output of a MIDI out channel to an FX channel, it's just not there.
My post probably didn't help at all but the "enable multiple outputs" is key, if you can enable that, then you're golden.

MIDI signals are not audio signals. What is the MIDI out going to??
Thanks for the response but I already figured it out, after setting enabling all outputs on the vst I didn't set the outputs on the vst as well, couldn't spot them.
I'm having the same problem with Cubase 5 and sonar 8, so if you guys know anything about these two feel free to let me in.
Midi routing is the same no matter what you're using.
Yes the concept, but not the order.
I've downloaded a picture maybe you can help me out.
As for protools Opie, eventually Iwill learn it, just don't have the money for it right now, especially since I have sonar 8 producer, and cubase 5, sitting infront of me.

On cubase ur gonna add the fx on the inserts of said vst, at the bottom of ur multitrack window. Should be labeled "vst channels" and should unfold to reveal every i/o of every vst instrument that is open in ur session.
Welcome to reality.
What are you trying to do? Couldn't tell from the pic.
I know Kris, the only problem is that, inserts are different on midi tracks then say Vst or Audio tracks. They don't have all the options, it's very limited.
For god sake man. WTF are u trying to do? Lol
lol okay im guna draw up another pic gimme like 10 minutes

If this doesnt work can we Team Viewer?
Dude... all you have to do is tell me what you're trying to set up and I'll give you a nice little walkthru. I know practically everything about Cubase. Are you trying to set up a plugin? are you trying to use a MIDI keyboard? Just tell me what you want to do. I'll explain how shit works in Cubase for you. It's not difficult.
I'd go off of the pics, but rapidshare has too many users right now. You should use imageshack for uploading pics onto rb. We have it built into the reply window.
Shit this whole time I thought you didnt understand the pics.
Well basically, you know how you add an instrument track, or audio track, or you insert a vst instrument from the top pannel? WHen you click on inserts it gives you all your FX, like reverbs compressors EQ etc, but when you click on the MIDI's inserts they are completely different....because it's a midi track. Ide just like to know how to add FX to midi tracks.
Everything else is good to go, well for now.
midi tracks only transfer midi data. There's no audio in MIDI tracks. So there's no FX that could possibly be applied. MIDI tracks are only for recording and playing MIDI data. You would use a midi track to do things like record midi notes off of your midi keyboard and output them to a piece of midi hardware. If you're using VSTi then you want to use instrument tracks which allow you to input midi data, which is automatically routed to the VSTi on the track. Instrument tracks handle MIDI and audio. MIDI tracks just handle MIDI. This is the same in Pro Tools as well. A MIDI track in these programs are the equivalent to using a MIDI Out channel in FL Studio.
