My soundproof booth I just made, thoughts?

First off I heard about this traveling booth you need studio foam (I just used bed..) and a whitmor collapsible cube sold at Target an Wal Mart, 2 for 10 bucks

so yeah I can't afford a actual soundproof booth an for what this is... it does the trick nice now I got a question tho

I just bought that Rode K2 mic an it's alot bigger than I thought it would be theres like an inch an a half from top to bottom b4 it touches the foam...

does anyone know if there is a table stand that would work to fit my K2 into there? are there any table stands that are good enough to be that felxible?

cut a hole in the bottom of that just big enough around for your mic stand, and make that sumbitch mount to your stand...

it's not a bad idea... you can buy those curved sound isolators, a similar idea but spendy... my only concern with this is that it may be a bit small...

That thin foam isn't dense enough to totally cancel out the reflections, the box is too small, I tried this idea years ago. What you'll find is that it produces a better sound then an open untreated room, but a muddier sound (depending on variables like voice being recorded, distances to the mic, etc.). Also, if you stand a foot away from it, you'll get a different sound then if you're literally right up to the mic, which would be uncomfortable and not a good way get a fully blossomed vocal sound. So you'll have to try things out to find what gets you the best sound, for me, before I just turned a closet to a booth, I took the sides off and made the back thicker, but this was just to cancel out noise from the back of the mic.

    Looks cool, though.

You're not really doing anything. The mic picks up the sound from the front. The reflections are bouncing off the walls and into the front of the mic. You are blocking some reflections from the sides, but not much. You're better off creating a booth out of moving blankets.
