Do we really think countries outrank ours though? Obviously the US is depicted as the most extravagant and luxurious country for an average citizen to live. Why do you think so many immigrants came and continue to come here? Quality of life is a VERY ambiguous and relative term also.
The majority of those countries pay insanely high taxes and are highly limited and regulated in what they can/can't do. Is a better "quality of living" really worth giving up certain freedoms this country was based upon? Until they change the manifesto from "government for the people by the people" to something like "government for the government by the government" then we'll be capitalist. I do not want the government to run/control more then they already do. It's intrusive and they're terrible at it. Give people the incentive to work hard and make money and you will ALWAYS get better results then government officials who are payed a decided income. It's not like they get bonuses for passing through x amount of bills. The entrepreneurial and inventive nature is still attributed to the Spirit of America. That's why this country is great the way it is and we don't need to make moves toward socialism.
hey, is it weird that.. In my mind, Americas like the only good country to live in that exists?
I know its not, But Like, off hand, I think it is...
I think that american arrogance thing kinda brainwashed me.
Anyone else feel the same?

It depends on what you think makes the best. In terms of progress we're the best.
