socialism...its got good shit and bad shit just like any system.

worth noting the best countries in the world today have socialist characteristics.

It's bad cuz it's not as effective as capitalism.

yes it is in some aspects better and more effective. and THOSE aspects should be used.

this is like syaing youe ither gota be pitch black or paper white...when you can simply go gray and use all

countries who do that outrank the US in pretty much everything tied to quality of life and education

    give some examples.

And US hasn't been a capitalistic country technically for like 60 years. That's why it's gonna get fucked.

I would have say that shows movement towards capitalism made Sweden a better place to live.

Well no matter where you go, governments are crooked. All of them, always have the same tactics, and they always ass fuck you. So the title of the economy is really irrelevant with government structure we have. Like the symbolic act of voting.. like.. two puppets on the same hand (NOT ON EVEN ON THE NWO SHIT) just from an average by partisan view. Do you really think it took all this time to have every home in america choosing from Two parties, who just HAPPEN to have opposite view on the very specifically selected "Debate" topics. If you like being in iraq, you vote for A, if not for B. Really being somewhere between capitalistic/socialistic/democratic/dictatorship society we live in, debating those four "titles" is really almost irrelevant when it doesnt affect life THAT much, and when the real issue is that the people have nearly no say. Specially in america. There's 2 choices.... mm.. freedom.

Jea, Ideal government would be there to protect capitalism and fair competition instead of being controlled by bribes or special interest groups.

i think american government is not genuinely concerned about the well-being of people over the well being of economy.

a lot of stuff you get on finance, like say, a nice hdtv from best buy for around $1800, where your minimum payment is lets say, $50 a month..well, you prolly need to pay twice that, just to pay off the credit..because of the interest rate, which a lot of companies are taking advantage of right now..i guarantee many people dont realize how they're getting robbed by it.

lets say best buy has a 27% apr and your minimum is payment is $50 on a hdtv that costs around $1800. out of that $50, they're going take around $40 just for the interest - which isnt going to chip off the $1800 you owe, it goes straight to best buy, leaving you really only paying off around $10 on the $1800 - as they then add that same $40 finance charge on to next months bill - making you go from $1790 to $1830..appearing as if the more you pay, the more you owe, where the only logical way to actually pay off this debt, is to pay the minimum PLUS the interest rate - so in order to actually pay the minimum monthly payment off your debt, you have to pay $90 a month..$50 for the minimum + $40 for the finance charge. if you have anything that expensive on credit and you're only paying the minimum, then you're never going to pay it off since the apr is 4x more than you're actually paying off your debt when you make a minimum payment.

i've heard the best thing to do is to transfer the debt to a bank for a lower interest rate. lets say your bank offers a credit card with a 14% apr..if you "qaulify" you can transfer the financed debt to this credit card, where the balance of your credit card will be equal to the remaining debt on your finance. the bank will then pay off the entire debt of the finance, transfer that debt to the banks credit card and you will now be paying only 14% apr on this debt, to the bank, rather than 27% apr to the company who financed your debt.

i know this doesnt really match with this subject - but it is relevant, a lot of people are being sucked dry by the financing structure and A LOT of companies that offer financing are doing this. A LOT, you might have something financed that seems affordable by the minimum payment, but little do you know that your minimum payment is really only paying on the interest, which goes directly to the company who financed you, and not paying off the actual debt you owe..

    its a vicious cycle..

    Nothing really.

Capitalism has it's ups and downs; so does socialism.

I would actually prefer a socialist country but with the same freedoms we get in America. Think about a country where everyone would be EQUAL and we would not be afraid to express our opinions. Until that country exists, I guess I'll settle for America.
